Sabrina’s Law 2005 (An Act to protect anaphylactic pupils – Bill 3).
This law means that every school will:
- Provide regular training for all employees and others who are in direct contact with pupils on a regular basis
- Have a procedure to ensure parents/guardians supply proper information and medication
- Have a detailed file for each anaphylactic student, i.e. consent, medication, instructions, photo, etc.
Parents please pay special attention to letters that are sent home about allergies in your child(ren)’s class. There may be certain food items that are not allowed in certain classes but remember, nut and nut products are NEVER allowed at school.
